About My Business

This award would mean so much to us! MindMatters Clinic are on a mission to improve the wellbeing of NZ workers. This needs attention now more than ever: One in four Kiwis currently experience mental illness and employers are grappling to support mental health at work. Finding the right professionals is often confusing and slow. MindMatters Clinic aims to change this by offering NZ businesses easy access to qualified, caring mental health professionals. MindMatters Clinic was founded by clinical neuropsychologist Dr Louise Cowpertwait. Louise believes mental health support should empower and enrich businesses and individuals' lives. During her nearly 20 years' of experience in the wellbeing sector, and from her own lived experience of mental health challenges at work, Louise saw first-hand how the lack of clarity and access to evidence-based care can result in poor experiences that can even harm rather than help wellbeing. So, MindMatters Clinic was born. MindMatters Clinic provides expert advice, training, and access to a diverse range of clinical experts who genuinely understand NZ businesses. This is not a gig economy business, but a relationship-based service where we walk alongside businesses to provide a simple yet tailored approach to meet the unique needs of the people who work there. MindMatters Clinic are a young company and their passion and commitment to quality have driven remarkable growth while helping our communities.

Why We Should Win The Peoples Choice Award

Our vision is for Kiwis to have easy access to empowering mental health and wellbeing support, when they need it. We are only at the beginning of our journey, and have already delivered workshops and talks on mental health to over two thousand NZers, written articles that have reached thousands of NZ readers, and supported hundreds of individuals who are struggling with our direct clinical support. We have also contributed to charities, such as designing and delivering NZs first workshop specifically for disabled people in partnership with My Life My Voice, supported young people into employment with skills for their wellbeing in partnership with Sky City's Project Nikau, and partnered with local Iwi Te Kawerau Iwi Tiaki Trust to develop their Iwi Hauora (wellbeing) framework. We have also done pro bono talks for ADHD NZ and Youth Employability Aotearoa. MindMatters Clinic are truly passionate about mental health. We are not only for profit and are a values-driven organisation on a mission for good. We are helping to break down barriers to talking openly about mental health and empowering people with clear information to support themselves and others. Please consider voting for us!
